Hello to all members,
Well, I guess summer is over and we all have a bountiful garden of fruit and vegetables. It must be over as the price of gas is going "DOWN" and the $ is up!!
We are entering into the time of year that we ask for volunteers for our executive, as the AGM nears and some positions will be open. If you have some time and would like to join a great group just let us know!
The year 2007 will be very exciting as it is the 25TH. Anniversary of our branch and the committee have some exciting things planned.
I want to take the time to thank all our members for making 2006 a great success with our out-reach lunches and our BBQ in July; we will try to continue to make even more things happen in 2007.
Again enjoy the fall and its wonderful colors and we will see you all at the AGM in November.
Be sure to mark the date down, as we will have our National President Dennis Jackson as our guest for dinner.

I hope you’ll plan to attend this year’s
Annual General Meeting and Dinner!
Last year was a great success, but we hope to make this year bigger and better. We have invited our National President, Dennis Jackson, to speak and to help us kick-off our 25th Anniversary celebrations.
The restaurant is easy to access, the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is superb! Again this year, we are able to offer a choice of three different entrees at the same price of $25.00 per person.
The menu includes salad, dessert, tea or coffee plus your choice of:
Marinated, grilled beef tenderloin kebobs
Ham and cheese stuffed chicken breast in mushroom-sherry sauce
Fresh Atlantic salmon filet in a lemon dill sauce.

A Helpful Suggestion:
For those of you who may not be aware, we offer a simple, convenient way of ensuring your membership is always current and up to date. It’s referred to as “Dues Deducted at Source” and it means never having to worry about whether or not you have paid for the current year. If you choose this method, Public Works & Government Services Canada (Pension Office) will simply deduct the small amount of $3.35 for double membership or $2.50 for single membership, each month from your superannuation (pension) cheque. Many of our members have already chosen this method of payment and I would encourage you to switch as well. Plus, it reduces our costs by eliminating mailing and the unnecessary waste of paper. Look for the application form “Deduction of Dues at Source” on the Web site. If you have any questions, or wish more information, please call me at 613-544-0663.
